Ore Slurry

Ore slurry transportation is one of the most demanding valve applications in mineral processing.

Lining & Elastomer Selection

The correct lining material depends on both the solid and liquid phases of the slurry.

BZVF offers multiple elastomer and rubber options so that lining selection can be matched to the actual service.

Natural Rubber

Natural rubber provides excellent abrasion resistance in many mineral-slurry applications and can be particularly effective where mechanical wear is the dominant challenge.

Its chemical and temperature limits must still be considered.

EPDM

EPDM provides good resistance to water and many aqueous chemical environments and is commonly used for process-water and selected slurry applications.

It is not the correct choice for every hydrocarbon or oil-containing service.

NBR

NBR provides good resistance to oils and certain hydrocarbon-containing media and can be selected where both slurry and oil resistance are required.

FKM / Viton

FKM provides strong resistance to many chemicals and elevated-temperature environments.

It may be used where chemical compatibility is more demanding than with conventional rubber materials.

Chloroprene Rubber

Chloroprene rubber can provide a useful balance of weather, water, oil and chemical resistance for selected applications.

Special Compounds

Where standard elastomers are unsuitable, BZVF can evaluate other rubber compounds or special wetted materials according to project requirements.

Inconel

Stainless Steel & 316Ti

316, 316L and 316Ti can be used for many process-water and chemical applications depending on chloride levels, acidity and operating temperature.

We do not assume that stainless steel is automatically suitable for every mine process.

Which rubber lining is best for mining slurry?

There is no single lining that is best for every slurry.

Natural rubber can provide excellent abrasion resistance in many mineral applications, while EPDM, NBR, FKM and other compounds offer different combinations of chemical resistance, temperature capability and wear performance.

We select the lining based on the complete slurry conditions.
